Shelter Provision

When the practical skills boys do their practicals they build three structures from three different wards that we would have selected.

These structures are built for free with the organisation proving all the required materials for the completion of the structures. Shelter is then provided for the less privileged in the communities that we operate in.

EDUCATION ASSISTANCE

The main focal point of this programme is to assist the less privileged school children in the community, mainly the Orphaned and Vulnerable Children who cannot afford to pay their school fees.

The programme’s includes payment of school fees, provision of school uniforms, stationery and school shoes.

PRACTICAL SKILLS TRAINING

A total number of 60 youths are trained every year. 30 boys doing Brick and Block Laying and Electrical Wiring while 30 girls do Clothing and Technology and Hotel and Catering. We are affiliated with Esigodini Vocational Training centre.

Writing of exams is done monitored by assessors from the training centre and certificates are given to the students after completion of the courses.

Food Assistance

The project assists orphaned and vulnerable children as well as elderly people who do not have bread winners to assist with food and other needs. Child headed families have been reached and food hampers are currently distributed on a monthly basis. The project has been kindly funded by the Germany friends. An additional donation was received under this project from Risen Saviour, with a total number of 503 boxes of Manna pack rice.

We distribute food on a monthly basis to the 14 civic wards that we operate in. the food hampers comprise of basic commodities such as 10kg mealie meal, 1kg chunks, 750ml cooking oil, 2kg sugar, 1 bar soap, 250g tea leaves ,500g salt and 1kg sugar beans

PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT CAMPS (PSS)

PSS is about helping children, families and communities to improve their psychosocial wellbeing. We have a weekly camp that targets adolescents, youths and adults. A variety of topics are facilitated during the camp such as The journey of life, HIV/AIDS awareness, Communication and feelings, Children’s rights, Community work and Culture and religion. The aim purpose of these camps is to encourage better connections between people, and building a sense of self - worth and community.

Youth Empowerment

These are meant to promote youth empowerment in the different wards that we operate in. Topics like entrepreneurship are taught when having meeting of youth alive clubs.

We have realised that most youths are driven into the mining world where they are exposed to drug abuse and theft. Through youth alive clubs they will help them realise their potential and later on be able to fend for themselves and their families.
