Sikhethimpilo Centre has been conferred with the Excellence In Community Empowerment Award 2024 at the Matabeleland Province ESG.
2024 Anti Illicit Drugs Campaign
Sikhethimpilo conducted campaign to raise awareness about the major challenge that illicit drugs represent to society as a whole , and to the young people(2024). The goal of the campaign was to mobilize support and inspire people of Maphisa to act against drug use.
2024 Pear Educator Workshops
Peer education is an approach to health promotion, in which community members are supported to promote health-enhancing change among their peers. We undertook another training session for young people from the local Maphisa Community to best fill this role. Our objective is to have these young people serve targeted youth community to provide advice, distribute educational resources, and promote positive health care choices in line with fighting HIV and Aids as well as the drug epidemic amongst young people.
2024 Graduation Sikhethimpilo Center
Sikhethimpilo turned out another batch of practically skilled young people to enter the job market. Young women and men in disciplines ranging from Carpentry, Building ,Fashion and cooking graduated at a colorful ceremony at a colorful event on the national youth day.
25 Year Silver Jubilee Celebrations
Sikhethimpilo was founded in 1998. It was founded by Sr. Ludbirga Schumacher CPS. The responsible person is the Provincial superior, Sister Maria Veronica Dingi CPS. In 2023 , the center celebrated 25 years of serving the local community, improving the quality of education, assisting the poor and unwell as well as upskilling the youth.
